University of Ljubljana (UL) is the oldest and largest higher education and research institution in Slovenia. University with its rich tradition was founded in 1919. It has more than 40.000 undergraduate and postgraduate students and employs approximately 5.600 higher education teachers, researchers, assistants and administrative staff in 23 faculties and three arts academies.

The Faculty of Education of the University of Ljubljana (FE UL) educates and trains teachers and other professional workers in the field of education, e.g. preschool and primary teachers, and the teachers specializing in teaching two subjects or subject areas in primary school, as well as in certain secondary schools. In addition to the traditional teachers’ programmes, the FE UL is the only institution in Slovenia that educates specialists for inclusive education and for the education of children and young people with special needs.

The University of Alicante (UA) was created in 1979. Today it educates and trains more than 36.000 students – 2.500 of them are international students – and offers more than 80 undergraduate and 96 postgraduate programmes, consequently it is proportionally one of the fastest growing Universities in Spain. The UA houses 227 research groups in Social and Legal Sciences, Experimental Sciences, Technological Sciences, Human Sciences, Education and Health Sciences and 15 Research Institutes (Water & Environment, Materials, Electrochemistry, Biodiversity, Chemical Processes and Organic Synthesis, and Modern Languages, among others).

UA is a young and dynamic university with vast experience in implementing EU funded projects in different programmes and areas, with experience in more than 60 countries worldwide. In the last 10 years, UA has successfully acted as coordinator of many Tempus, Alfa, Edulink projects involving

Third Countries and Lifelong Learning and FP Projects. Now it continues with new EU programmes, such as ERASMUS+ and HORIZON 2020.

Masaryk University (MU) is the second-largest public university in the Czech Republic and one of its leading higher education institutions. It consists of nine faculties and over 200 departments, institutes and clinics. Currently about 36.000 students are enrolled in the University study programmes. The University is involved in a wide range of research programs taking place in the EU and other countries. In the last decades, MU has gained considerable experience in a number of international projects (Tempus, Erasmus Mundus and Erasmus).

Department of Educational Sciences (DES) is a part of the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University.  Among others, DES offers the following study programs: Educational Science, Social Pedagogy and Counselling, and Adult Education; the doctoral program of Educational Science.

Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) is a public research university in the cities of Erlangen and Nuremberg in Bavaria, Germany. FAU was founded in 1743 and has more than 40.000 students (including around 3.600 foreign students), and employs about 650 professors and around 3,500 members of the academic staff. The university offers more than 240 different fields of study.

The Department of Educational Science in the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Theology covers almost all-important sub-disciplines of educational science, such as diversity education and international educational research, media education, cultural and arts education, teacher education, school education and instructional research, primary school education, and secondary school education. The department carries out numerous empirical research studies. The chair of school education has a high and internationally visible expertise in teacher education, instructional research, school development, emotion research, and in interdisciplinary and intervention research.

The University of Primorska Universita’ del Litorale (UP) was established in 2003 as a third national university in Slovenia.

Its objectives are to generate and to transmit new knowledge based on research and innovations, and to contribute to the sustainable development of local and wider Central European, South-Eastern European, and Mediterranean area.

The Faculty of Management (FM) established in 1995, is a public higher education institution for education and research in the field of social sciences, with special focus on economics, finance, and business management. Study programs are internationally comparable and encourage student mobility and flexibility through programs of international co-operation with different higher education institutions.

The FM is actively engaged in scientific and research activities in the field of economics, finance, law, and management. In addition to education and research, the basic activities of the FM also include providing consultancy to companies and other organizations, publishing of international scientific journals and books, and organization of international conferences.
